Self-Care Awareness Month

Did you know September is the month of Self-Care Awareness?

This is the time to remind us that taking care of ourselves, first and foremost, is essential. We all tend to put others needs before our own, especially being a mother of three and a wife. Self- care is often neglected and it’s crucial that we remember to take time for ourselves. You can use this month of September to make self-care a part of your daily routine; practice being good to yourself. It can be as simple as a conscious breathe in the morning or as luxurious as time away from the pressures of everyday life. The kindness we show towards ourselves will manifest into a kinder world. When I do have my “me time” I take time to sit or tend to my flower gardens, this helps me relax and relieves any stress that I was going through that day.  Did you know that there are many plants that have several benefits for you? Two of my favorite, herbs; lavender and Basil are always in my garden or in my kitchen window sill with one of my planters that I 3D printed these plants both have a wide variety of benefits for your body.

Take for instance, Basil it is not just an ordinary herb that you can find in your pasta it has many medicinal factors as well. It can sharpen your memory, eliminate infections, remove phlegm from that stubborn cold, it’s an anti-stress agent, and lastly it can help those hurtful migraines!  As for Lavender this beautiful plant can treat anxiety, fungal infections, hair loss, and external wounds.  Both of these plants can also be blended into teas or drinks that actually taste really good!

My favorite drink to create in the summer is Lavender Lemonade. If you use fresh, garden flowers, make sure they have not been sprayed with pesticides. Do not use florist flowers.

So next time you are at the grocery store or at a local greenhouse you should be able to find these beneficial plants and Flymeawaycreations will be adding both of these plants (seeds) to purchase within a couple of weeks!  www.flymeawaycreations.com
