πŸͺ΄ Houseplant Corner: Caring for Your Snake Plant

Looking for an easy-care houseplant to brighten up your home during the cooler months? The Snake Plant (Dracaena trifasciata) is a wonderful choice!

Its tall, upright leaves add a beautiful touch of greenery to just about any room.

Here are 4 simple care tips:

  1. Light: Snake plants tolerate low light but grow best with bright, indirect sunlight.
  2. Water: Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering is their biggest enemy!
  3. Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, preferably one designed for succulents.
  4. Temperature: Keep indoors in a warm space, away from cold drafts and chilly windows.

My biggest tip: When in doubt, don’t water! Snake plants are much happier being a little dry than sitting in soggy soil.

3 Helpful Tips for Growing Thyme

1. Give It Plenty of Sunshine: Thyme loves the sun! Plant it in a location that receives at least 6–8 hours of sunlight daily. The more sunshine it gets, the more flavorful its leaves will be.

2. Don’t Overwater: Thyme prefers well-draining soil and likes to dry out between waterings. Too much water can lead to root rot, so let the soil dry before reaching for the watering can.

3. Harvest Often for Fuller Growth: Regularly snip the tender stems to encourage bushier growth. You can use fresh thyme in soups, roasted vegetables, chicken dishes, and homemade Thanksgiving stuffing!

🌱 Garden Tip: Thyme is a wonderful herb to grow in containers near your kitchen door, making it easy to snip fresh flavor whenever you’re cooking!

A Little Thank You Before the Holidays

As we head into the busiest season of the year, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU!

Small businesses grow because of wonderful customers like you, and I’m so grateful to have you along for this journey.
